Power of Us: History of the YWCA Australia
The YWCA Australia has its own board, strategic direction and membership. There are nine other YWCAs in Australia, and similar to the YWCA of Adelaide, each has their own board, membership, strategic direction and focus.
YWCA associations contribute financially to the work of the YWCA Australia through a membership levy and fee based on the annual turnover of each association. The other YWCA associations are located in:
YWCA Canberra
YWCA Toowoomba
YWCA Brisbane
YWCA Hunter
YWCA NSW
YWCA Victoria
YWCA Perth
YWCA Darwin
There are also YWCA groups which are linked to one of the larger associations in their state. For example in South Australia there are three YWCA groups in Port Pirie which each meet weekly in the Port Pirie YWCA hall.
