Power of Programs: Women's Club
The YWCA of Adelaide supports women’s clubs for women of all ages and backgrounds. Women’s Clubs meet once a week for social, networking and fundraising activities.

Breakaway
The name was created from the idea that women need a ‘break-away’ from the home, children and the usual routines of life by sharing friendship and fun with others.

Golden Circle
The name was derived from the ‘Golden Circle of Friendship’, the group formed in 1959. For fun they organise speakers on subjects of interest, outings and enjoyable mornings, and support local community groups by regularly donating food and other items of need.

Brighton Church of Christ

Karuna
Karuna came together in 1976 when the suburb Hackham, being a new development, needed somewhere for its young mums to meet and socialise. They first started meeting at the historical building Holly House.
They developed their own crèche with babysitters to look after children while they met. They are a friendly group, enjoying regular outings, craft activities and a variety of guest speakers

Maggies
Founded by one of its members, Val Brokenshire, the Maggies are a happy, friendly group of women who are all young at heart. They organise outings, speakers, games and quizzes and are well known for their annual ‘Maggies Concert’, which is always a hit with Adelaide Women.

Wednesday Wives
The Wednesday Wives are one of our larger clubs with over 50 members. The club is over 40 years old. They are a friendly group of women with great devotion to their group activities. They invite a diverse selection of guest speakers from Women’s Information Services to the SES Dogs Unit, all with an aim to educate and inform women. At the end of every month they organise an outing and support the community by providing gifts and food packages to charitable organisations.

Kotara was formed in 1975. They are a busy and well-organised group who encourage women’s self-improvement and education. Joining Kotara will give you the opportunity to develop new ideas and skills in a caring and friendly environment.
