Why Does the YWCA of Adelaide have
Volunteers? Volunteering is an excellent way to acquire
new skills, meet new people and make a contribution to our
community. The YWCA of Adelaide believes volunteer participation
can lead to a more democratic, caring, dynamic and cohesive
community within our rapidly changing world.
Our volunteer program aims to:
Make greater linkages with the
community (especially women) through initiating, enhancing and
extending existing programs and services at the YWCA.
Create opportunities for women and the
community to become empowered through the development and
acquisition of new knowledge and skills.
Create opportunities for personal
development, by broadening and enriching life experiences
through involvement in community projects.
Increase the effectiveness and
relevance of the organisation by reaching out into the
community seeking feedback to steer the organisation into new
directions for the future.
There are many volunteering opportunities
